ISPAW Handbook - download PDF
The handbook attempts to reflect two years of exchanges of visits and discussions between 6 partners from 5 countries - France, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Romania.
This action was supported by the Grundtvig subprogram under the framework of the European Program "Life Long Learning".
Starting from a "European Report" published by FEANTSA (the European Federation of National Associations Working with the Homeless) with the participation of all "European Union” countries, we have involved structures dealing with homelessness.
Each partner has presented his own "innovative” experiences. Some partners have tested some "best practices” of others.
The handbook comprises several documents which reflects the work carried out by the partners during the two years of the partnership.
Chapter 1 presents the Best practices collected by the partners, namely 3 from France, 2 from Italy, 1 from Latvia, 2 from Poland and 1 from Romania.
In Chapter 2 we have tried to analyze the BPs and to check how it is possible to transfer them in other conditions and circumstances. It was not easy to achieve this part of the project but we think we have been successful in carrying out this task.
Chapter 3 presents you how some partners have tested BPs from other countries. A protocol of evaluation has been elaborated by the partnership. It is a powerful tool to evaluate professional practices.
Chapter 4 allowed us to understand how the situations of homeless persons are different in the different countries of EU. It was necessary to collect the information issued from the countries of the partnership to understand each other and what words mean considering the homeless issue.
Eventually we have asked all partners to provide some resources. Those elements whatever they are (books, articles, web sites, etc) are significant to understand the evolution of the question of homelessness in the EU.
